Blogger's Quilt Festival 2015 / Small Quilt Category

Hi everyone!

I'm happy to share two of my quilts for this years «blogger's quilt festival»; I participated last year and it was a lot of fun.

My entry in the small quilts category is one of my favorite quilts I ever made. As my scrap-bins were overflowing, a scrappy project was in order. Plus I love kaleidoscope-quilts. Hence a scrappy, blue kaleidoscope!

This is the first time I thought a quilt would look better with a border. I'm so glad there were enough whites among my scraps because I think its a perfect choice for this particular quilt. Yay for scrappy!

I chose the tiger-cats in blue as backing and splurged on doe for binding. Also, spiral quilting which took forever but looks so good. I'm so glad I didn't just opt for the straight-straight lines ;)

Some stats:

40" x 45.5" / 100 cm x 116 cm

Pieced and Quilted by me
Heirloom Premium 80/20 (Cotton-Poly Blend)
Quilted with Aurifil 50wt Cotton Thread

I named the quilt «freezing» because it was freezing when we spent my birthday in the mountains and took this photo of the finished quilt:
